2005 Michigan Capitol Ornament
The 2005 Michigan Capitol Ornament celebrates the slender, elegant cast iron dome that rises 267 feet above Capitol Square. Designed by architect Elijah E. Myers, it is one of the first cast iron domes to top a state capitol. Widely acclaimed and frequently imitated, our statehouse helped establish domed capitols as a symbol of American democracy in the post Civil War period.
Ornament measures 4 1/4" tall by 2 1/2" wide.
