2017 Michigan Capitol Ornament

The 2017 Michigan State Capitol ornament features the beautiful original decorative artwork on the ceiling of the east corridor on the second floor, near the Governor’s Capitol Office. The ceiling was painted in the late 1880s, when skilled artists decorated nine acres of once white surfaces in an array of colors and motifs. In the 1992 the Michigan State Capitol was named a National Historic Landmark in part for its stunning decorative art.
