2018 Michigan Capitol Ornament

The 2018 Michigan State Capitol ornament features the building’s distinctive custom-cast door hinges, which bear the state coat of arms. The original hinges and their matching door knobs were installed in 1878 during the Capitol’s construction. Sadly, many were lost and replaced throughout the years. Replica hinges were cast and installed throughout the Capitol during its 1987-1992 restoration.
